The Roots of Our Craft The story of Tallow Heart began not in a laboratory, but in the memory of a farmhouse kitchen. Inspired by my grandmother’s traditional craft of making pure, honest soaps, I grew up with a deep respect for nature’s wisdom and the simple power of the land.
A Personal Journey to Purity A few years ago, I embarked on a mission to remove hidden chemicals and synthetic fillers from my own home and skincare routine. This led me back to my roots and the discovery of the incredible, bio-available benefits of grass-fed beef tallow—nature’s original skin superfood.
What started as a small batch of whipped balm for my own family here in Bloemfontein quickly grew into a passion. After seeing how these traditional fats nourished and transformed the skin of those closest to me, I knew I had to share this "liquid gold" with others.
Handcrafted in Bloemfontein, with Love Today, Tallow Heart is a commitment to purity and transparency. Every jar is handcrafted in small batches right here in the Free State. We use 100% grass-fed tallow and slow-infused botanicals like Calendula and Buchu to create skincare that is as close to nature as possible.

From the Karoo to the World—and Back Again My journey began under the vast, open skies of a farm in the Karoo. Growing up, life was defined by the rhythms of nature and the beauty of simple things. It was here, watching my grandmother craft soap from the land, that I first learned the value of pure, honest ingredients.
A Foundation in Excellence After school, my path led me to Cape Town to study Hospitality Management. That career took me into the fast-paced world of luxury hotels, both locally and across the globe. I spent years learning the art of service, the importance of detail, and what it truly means to provide a premium experience for others.
Coming Full Circle While the world of luxury taught me much, I felt a deep pull back to my roots. I realized that true luxury isn't found in synthetic perfumes or gold-leafed lobbies—it’s found in the quiet power of nature and a "back to basics" way of living.
The Heart of the Brand I’ve come full circle, returning to the simple, natural lifestyle I loved as a boy. Today, I pour that same "five-star" dedication to quality into every batch of Tallow Heart. My mission is to blend the sophistication of my professional background with the raw, nourishing wisdom of the Karoo.
